About DAODE Center

Center “Dao De” was founded in St. Petersburg in 2005 by Dmitry A. Artemiev, a student of Prof. Eugene A.Torchinov. E.A.Torchinov, a well-known researcher of Chinese tradition, Taoism and Martial arts.

For more than 25 years of studying the Chinese tradition, both in written sources and by searching for teachers and masters - bearers of the tradition in China itself, we have established contact and trained with more than 20 masters of qigong, alchemy, martial arts, among them:

  • Teacher of Single Yang, patriarch of the traditional Daoist School WuLiuPai,

  • Teacher Zhu Mingxian, patriarch of the open Daoist School Ma Danyang - Yuxianpai,

  • Master Yang Fansheng, patriarch of the Xinyiquan School of Che Yizhai,

  • Master Hong Bao, one of the top 3 doctors of ancient Chinese medicine in China itself, master of fengshui, chiromancy and physiognomy,

  • Master Hao Zheng, patriarch of the Wu-Hao School of Taijiquan,

  • Master He, the heir to the Zhao Daoxin School of Yiquan,

  • Master Pan Heming, the founder and head of the Jinengong School of Qigong

Biography of Master Dmitry A. Artemyev

Started practicing martial arts since 1975, oriental martial arts since 1978. Since 1987 practiced various types of qigong and wushu. Since the early 80's I became interested in the study of traditional Chinese culture with emphasis on the study of Taoist texts available at that time. In order to study Wushu and Daoism since the end of 80s traveled to different places in China, lived in villages and Daoist monasteries, communicated and studied with leading Daoists and scientists of China.

He completed his postgraduate studies at the Department of Oriental Philosophy and Cultural Studies, which was headed by E.A. Torchinov.

Dmitry Artemiev is a student (pupil) of several family Wushu Schools and several Schools of Daoist alchemy (Neidan).
He also studied under the Patriarchs and abbots of Quanzhenjiao and Zhengyidao.

He is a participant in several Chinese international conferences on Daoism and Daodejing, and has published in Chinese language publications (Daoism, Daology).
